Backburner Spiced Butter

Use This Butter Compound On Breads and More

You can make this the old-fashioned way or use a stick of softened butter. This recipe is for a homemade version. If you opt to use store bought butter, you can adjust the amount of salt by softening unsalted butter and adding to taste.

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. Place the heavy cream in a stand mixer and or use a hand mixer on medium speed for 3 minutes. Once thickened, increase the speed to high and continue to beat for 5 minutes until butter forms and separates from the buttermilk.

  2. Once the butter is formed, strain it away from the buttermilk using a cheesecloth. Drain away the buttermilk (save for cornbread, biscuits, etc!)

  3. Add your seasonings to the butter. Mix well, roll into a log, and refrigerate.

Recommended Uses:

  • Spread it on crusty bread

  • Add it to cornbread

  • Use it to fry eggs

  • Baste your steaks with it

  • Melt it on popcorn

  • Spread it on corn on the cob
